Saddle flashings are thin impervious coverings used for waterproofing the junction of two or more beams, or where beams penetrate through the façade of a building.
They usually involve complicated folding and/or precise welding to ensure integrity of the seal. And they are subject to much higher wear due to any building flex.
The design and fabrication of saddle flashings is a critical concern as they must deal with years of stress as buildings warm or cool, especially where different materials meet.
